Volunteers

Many hands make light work!

The Montavilla Farmers Market needs volunteers for the following positions:

Durable Dish and Recycling
Work with our awesome, dedicated Master Recycler, Kristin. The market sends only the tiniest amounts of trash to the landfill due to volunteers’ efforts on composting & recycling. Our pioneering Durable Dish program reduces waste even more by using durable plates, cups and utensils instead of disposable paper, plastic and compostable food serviceware. Artisan Coordinator
Our market has one booth decidated to local artists who wish to showcase and sell their work. This position mainly involves soliciting artisans, reviewing portfolios, scheduling, and collecting the nominal fee. Please email Kate Harback at artisans@montavillamarket.org

If you are interested in the positions listed below, visit us at the market or email us at: volunteers@montavillamarket.org

“Coffee Crew” Setup
Rise & shine, then help set up the market. Our Sunday AM volunteers work from 8:30-9:30 setting up tents, tables, chairs, setting out A-board signs, and prepping for chef demos and events. Yeah it’s early, but you get first dibs on all the best produce that may sell out as the day goes on!

Tear Down (aka “Late Risers”)
Tear down & clean up are essential, and this happens at 2pm. This great position is ideal for those who wake up late, but still want to lend a hand. Plus—ever wonder what happens to those fresh bouquets and stuff the farmers don’t want to haul back at the end of the end of the day? You guessed it—the dedicated tear down volunteers to the rescue.

Financial Housekeeping Helper
Not interested in the physical aspects of set up and tear down? We need detail-oriented help to keep our Debit Card and Food Stamps token programs working!

Info Booth Liaison
Like Financial Housekeeping, this position is physically less demanding, but requires friendly interaction with market-goers.

Volunteer Leads
Volunteer Leads can fill any of the above positions and make the extra commitment of attending at least 2 weekends per month, directing & training other volunteers, & assisting with scheduling.
