Outreach Committee

3-10 hours per month
The Outreach Committee actively promotes the benefits and efforts of MFM and welcomes involvement from the Montavilla community. It seeks and sustains collaborative partnerships, builds a core of volunteers, and expands the market’s customer base.

Marketing Committee

3-10 hours per month
This fun and vibrant committee works to make the market and its activities known through its publications, online presence, merchandise, and community involvement. This is a key part of helping the market grow and be known in the community.

Board Development Committee

2-3 hours per month
The BD committee is about helping us maintain the appropriate level of board members and board involvement in our market. The primary goal is to recruit and help select new board members so that we have a great board that rotates on from committees and off onto committees. This cycle of service will instill a stability and freshness to our board that is essential for our markets growth and success. Other priorities are to seek members that fulfill needs based on our present strengths and weaknesses, create diversity, and prepare new board members for leadership roles within the board. This committee also screens, interviews, and presents potential board members to the board. Previous board experience is required.

Finance Committee

2-3 hours per month
The Finance Committee is responsible for tracking market cash flow and ensuring the financial health of the market. This is a key part of keeping the Montavilla Farmers Market sustainable and growing. We spend time interpreting financial reports, tracking costs vs. income, and working on budgets. Volunteers with skills or experience in finance and accounting are encouraged to apply.

Empty Bowl Committee

NOTE: This committee is full for 2016
The Empty Bowl committee plans the Empty Bowl Fundraiser in September. This fundraiser will raise the majority of funds for the market’s Everybody Eats program, creating access to the farmers market for a broader range of customers and supporting farmers by enabling greater buying power among customers. Volunteers will have the opportunity to gain experience in event planning and/or fundraising according to their interests.
