Come to a community forum on MFM’s future

January 12, 2018 |  by  |  News

We’re moving! Our January 14th and February 11th Winter Stock-Ups will be held at our current location in the gravel lot at 7700 SE Stark St, across the street from Mr. Plywood. Our May 6th opening day is yet to be determined.

The Montavilla Animal Clinic (MAC) has graciously hosted us for the past 10 years! We congratulate Dr. Behrends on his retirement after 33 years of service to our community and we wish him well. The MAC lot we use for the farmers market will have new ownership and development is likely. We are searching for our next home and invite you to hear about it.

Join us at a community forum where we’ll share our work so far, including; locations scouted and the guiding principles we are using to evaluate potential sites.

Wednesday, January 31st
6:30-8:00 PM
Montavilla United Methodist Church at
232 SE 80th Ave., Portland, OR 97215

The forum is free, but an RSVP is appreciated so we can plan accordingly for the number of attendees. Please RSVP here.

We need community support! We have had 11 successful seasons because of shoppers and volunteers like you. Come be part of the change.

If you’re not able to make this date and want to help, please let us know at president [@] montavillamarket.org.

  1. Sadly, your new location makes it nearly impossible for me to come to the Montavilla market anymore. I live near Mall 205 and I have no car. I could walk to the old site. The #82 bus is not palatable.

I feel so bad. I so enjoyed the market.

    • Hi Ann,
We haven’t picked a new location yet, there’s still time to let us know your thoughts on what would be ideal. Please let us know here, or send our board president a message at president [@} montavillamarket.org. Thank you!

  2. Hi,
Has there been any outreach to businesses on Stark regarding the changes to occur? There seems to be “lots” available on Washington near 82nd?

    • Hi Patricia,
We’ve been reaching out to business owners personally and through METBA, the neighborhood’s business association. Let us know if there’s a particular biz you want to introduce us to! Thanks!
