Artisans

The 2008 Montavilla Farmers Market again has an Artisans Booth featuring select handmade goods. Realizing that our neighborhood is home to many fine artisans, we are delighted to showcase them. The Artisan schedule is full for the 2008 season: Please see the Events Calendar. If you would like to be on a waiting list for unexpected openings, please continue reading below ...

How It Works

Each week two artists will share one 10 x 10-foot booth. Our goal is to feature different artists each week and to carefully select the pairs for synergy and artistic balance.

The booth fee for each artist each week is $25; this price includes a canopy, but the artists are responsible for their own table, chair, display stand, and anything else you need. (Note: There is no electricity on the market site.)

We will evaluate all applications, and select the participating artists, according to these criteria:

1. All items must be handmade and must be sold by the maker.
2. Preference will be given to artists who live or work in the Montavilla and Mt. Tabor neighborhoods.
3. No home-party products are allowed.
4. The final selection process aims for a diversity of art media (ceramics, pottery, glass, paintings, photography, fabric art, etc.), with quality being the paramount goal. In this highly subjective process, the jury selection will be final.

Click Here to get the application! (MS Word) or here (PDF). See the application for instructions, however: The due date is April 5th, decisions will be made by May 5th, and once notified, a selected artisan will have two weeks to send in their fee to reserve their desired date(s).

If you have questions, please email artisans@montavillamarket.org.
Please check the 2007 events calendar for examples of what artists were part of the market in 2007.
Thank you for your interest!
